I think that (very unfortunately)intc won't go beyond its last year's high of 102
until we see Merced ship and AMD outta business(maybe mid '99?). Till
then I hope that it hits 90's and I can make a small profit :).

An excerpt follows:(can't post the whole article due to copyright reasons)

Intel Corp.'s fourth-quarter profit fell 8.9%, but the results were well ahead
of Wall Street expectations, potentially soothing investors who worried that
economic woes in Asia could do serious damage to top U.S. technology
firms.

The chip maker said net income for the fourth quarter totaled $1.74 billion,
down 8.9% from $1.91 billion in the year-ago period. Revenue edged up
1.5% to $6.54 billion from $6.44 billion a year ago. Intel said revenue was
helped by higher revenue from microprocessor sales, which was partially
offset by lower revenue from chipsets.

Intel also warned first-quarter 1998 profit will likely be flat with the fourth
quarter. But analysts said this may actually be a good sign, as many had
anticipated that slumping Asia sales could send overall revenue lower.
