The 1% milk I buy has 15gm sugars and the cultured buttermilk also 1% milk-fat has 13gm sugars.

No doubt the 2gm difference in natural sugars is due to the lactic-acid bacteria used to culture the buttermilk.

One plus for buttermilk are the probiotics created.
