If we are being hammered by professional shorters, the effect shouldn't be long. They gang up on a small company, whale the tar out of it, and move to the next victim. You can't get rich shorting triple digit growth. I suspect we'll be moving again next Monday latest. I have had the honor of watching my really little stocks go through it and that was the pattern. If people sell into it, it helps drive the price down even more. Imagine, you go short a zillion shares at 14, cause a stampede for the exits, and cover at 10-12 in three days. This company deserves people hanging on to their shares.
The flip side is when support, in the form of retail buying comes in. The shorters have made the easy bucks, so the're out of there. Now it's all buyers at a fire sale price, so if you sold out looking for a lower re-entry point, you better have a finger on the trigger.
I still think that 12.5 option might play some role, so without any clue about anything, that's my prediction. Vicinity of 12.5+ on Friday. Fire sale next week. We shall overcome, Mike |
