From my front row seat, there was no lack of heroism by individual American soldiers, Montagnard tribesmen, and Korean and Australian soldiers, and others fighting with us in Viet Nam.

Our failure to prevail militarily and politically in VN rests squarely on the shoulders of our senior military and congressional leadership. They made and enforced the key decisions that led to the failure to prevail.

Neither our president nor our key 4 star military leadership in VN was a Patton or Eisenhower.

From my 2nd row seat today, I see Vietnam-like senior leadership continue to fail our military today.

The fighting mission is in transition. Our key combat leadership is moving (or should I say has moved?) from battlefields to political arguments in DC over how many human sexes exist and which sex does this and which sex does that in battle...and how many more than three human sexes can we send to fight?

Our military leaders also argue vociferously and endlessly about who can wear green, red, blue, brown, and black berets.

My suggestion is this - If the hats our soldiers wear are so durn important, go back to the one field headgear that all our soldiers wore in WW II. They capped winners and cost a lot less.
