FYI Michael YON was career SF who even after retiring continued his mission. A lot of our SF did and still do that.

"The author of this short piece is Dale Jelinek. Dale knows a great deal more about this issue than this article lets on. Dale was part of a team that helped get more helicopters sent to Afghanistan after various MEDEVAC failures. Silent parts of the team were dozens of Army, Air Force, and Marines who quietly advised us and provided crucial information.
The failures continue and are inexcusable."
