By "5 windows" do you mean chart windows? Having an editor open, such as custom indicators, should not matter much. I found sometimes that the number of data series might be an issue, which is not surprising. So, If I had a couple of chart suites open, each with many (10 or more) data series, then 3.25 seemed more likely to crash. However, it didn't crash often enough for me to be certain of any cause and effect relationships. 4.x seems pretty stable, even after much use.
