(OT) My step-dad walks a lot and his health is doing better than my mom. They split after I joined the military, but I'm close to him and we talk often.

My mom still mows her yard at 79 and has Lupus. She married at 15, had me when she was 16, and still graduated from college. I'm her only child. She's a remarkable woman and was always able to do anything beyond school and managing her work group including cooking and sewing.

My biological father was a country boy and good at math. He died from a stroke at 84 a few years ago. Both men my mom married were good.

Btw, my mom is on the other side of the state and I called her on Mother's Day that was Sunday. :)
