Andre, I don't know if the newer 100 MByte Zips will be faster, but I would think that when the Zip goes to higher densities (200 to 400 MBytes/disk) that the data transfers rates may very double. This would likely be the case if Iomega doubles the bits/track and retains the same disk speed.

The major advantage is that the ASIC(s) significantly reduces the cost of manufacture.
