andy71, it took me a bit of effort to come up with a theory about what your point was.
Somehow you thought I was Barry, and was disparaging Seymour because of his age either in post 10276 or in his rant in the most recent shareholder's meeting in December. (BTW, I am not Barry and I intended nothing of the sort. I'm not sure how you got that out of my post, so I'll assume you read that into Barry's comments at the shareholder's meeting.)
HardToFind Post 10276: "Executive Search Committee reports that it is now in due diligence phase" Without coming right out and saying so, this seems to imply the company has either picked a lead candidate for replacing Seymour (which it is vetting), and/or have a small pool of lead candidates that are being vetted. I wonder how long that vetting process takes? In my post I was only wondering how long before we got our next CEO to fill the vacancy Dr. Seymour left. Dr. Diwan can certainly use the help.
Clearly at this point you confuse me with the blind gentleman (Barry) that expressed his displeasure at NNVC management at the last NNVC shareholder meeting. I take it you didn't like his rant. Here it appears you talk of playing tennis with the man with a seeing-eye dog.
andy71 Post 10277: Hard to find... I met you at the annual meeting... you stood up so elegantly and your dog was very sweet... you spoke your little peace and ran out ... wanted to ask you questions ... sorry you had to catch your flight so quickly... maybe next time we will go play tennis or i can just throw a tennis ball to your puppy... Next (below) you remove all doubt about knowing Barry is blind by comparing him with Helen Keller. Mixed into this conversation you try to point out that Charlie Munger is older than Dr. Seymour, and still sharp as a tack. (I don't recall if Barry said anything about Dr. Seymour's age in his shareholder meeting rant. But if he did, and you thought I was Barry, perhaps you thought I was anxious for Dr. Seymour to leave because of his age. BTW, that was not the case at all for me...I cannot speak for Barry.)
andy71 Post 10278: I am so proud of you... I know you love to scream about geriatric this or that... and let's face getting older means you are not wise... munger is my hero and he is 95 ... but god he shouldn't be right .... to old ... but look at you... hellen keller and you proved that being blind is not an impediment just like getting older isn't either... but having a wonderful puppy is a plus Not knowing what you were talking about, I wondered why you're picking on Barry about being blind. Now I presume you were just trying to make a point. Neither blindness or age should predispose one to assume incompetence. I agree completely, if that was your point. My reference to whale dung was in the context of urban dictionary's definition of the phrase (linked below) and why you wanted to play Barry in tennis. I don't claim any special knowledge of whales or their dung. I had no intention of insulting whales...
HardToFind Post 10290: I hope you're not poking fun at the disabled. That would be lower than whale dung. I'm afraid you've got the wrong person. I believe that gentleman's name was Barry. I hung around after the shareholders' meeting and spoke to plenty of people. Sorry I missed you. Here you assert your point was perfectly clear, and you were not making fun of Barry for his blindness. (Perhaps it would have been clear to Barry, but it wasn't clear to me.)
andy71 Post 10293: excuse me I was making fun of absolutely no one... my point was clear and please don't insult me.... I believe age is a huge asset and I believe nothing should prevent somebody from making a huge impact on the world... whale dung... do you want to know what whale dung is ... my minor in college many many years ago was working at sea world... so please don't insult whales.. (I hope that was not your point because that would be lower than rat feces). I hope that was not your point and please never again accuse me of insulting disabled people... one of my best friends lost his sight in a car accident and could run circles around you... but thanks for the lecture I think we're even on the insults. (I cede to your expertise in whales and their dung.) I will take you at your word with regards to the intent of your comments to Barry, if you can trust me that I (not being Barry, and not recalling his comments) had no earthly idea what your point was.
Enough with the insults? Let's call a truce... |
