exactly. engineering, math, computer science for AI big data science, physics have good well paid jobs for their education. then biology chemistry not so many good jobs since pharmaceutical companies relocated abroad since a couple of decades ago. then there is anthropology philosophy english literature etc they either move on to a professional school or obtain a master's degree in education for high school teaching jobs. Some will end up a barista at star bucks for a while. but can't blame the entire institution for that. nothing is perfect. some majors go through restructuring in a free market process when the colleges come under financial stress. the educated barista may not stay there forever. when their income can not support their livelihood, they will have to move on to a different job or to a professional school for a much better paying job. the american higher education system produced wonders in technology, new economy etc. don't blame american colleges for some educated baristas. very few educated baristas will stay that way for long. they should move on even if to pay back their education loans, lol!
