Exactly why I posted this to you:
We've trained the world to feel entitled to American wealth and protection. Now that we are pulling back on that a bit to focus more on our own foundational needs, they are all getting quite upset. Entitlement and dependency are like that. Once given, it's hard to take it back, which is why Socialism is such a cancer. -mindmeld
The Europeans have become so used to American largess since WWII that they don't know how to get along without us. Time for them to grow up. They can start with living with the consequences of their socialistic, low growth policies, and their complete neglect of their military. It's exactly as that man said, "if you want a helping hand, you'll need to look to the end of your arm", instead of always extending your hand to Americans and asking for a handout. No one is entitled to American wealth, but Americans themselves.
