Check ATHM's @Work division. NSCP is aware of the intense interest in a cheap, unbeateable alternative to T1. Not only does NSCP fit, but because of their positioning as the preferred business browser and because of the Sun-UNIX support, business will force them to accelerate cable oriented development. Cable has at least a 6 to 1 delivery advantage over everything short of 5 miles.

I'm trying to emphasize that addressing this ancillary market is in itself, not enough to pull NSCP out of the hole. NSCP believes their current business plan will work. That's wishful thinkong at best. They've got nothing unless they take the bull by the horns and either develop the thin cable modem client integrated OS perhaps in conjunction with Solaris or modify COMM 4.xy to have specific features taking advantage of @Work's delivery power.

Probably the latter is the only practical way for them to take advantage of the explosion of growth of cable transfer, but they can skunkworks the OS concept without a lot of hoopla and maybe hide behind SUNW until release. They have got to stop taking on MSFT on their ground. They need a change of venue. They need to stay out of lawsuits and confrontation with MSFT. They need to go their own way, change the kind of company they are, and do something new. When you're large you've got to go after large potential developments. Cable is the biggest thing that ever hit this planet. They'd better be there, else chapter 12.

I suggest you log onto ATHM's site and read the white paper on the @Work division. Once you're up to speed, then we're going to get into this OS stuff technically
