I suppose if buyers had great credit, little to no debt and both parents made $20/hr full time they could squeak by on a 400k home with 3% down. That's 80k gross/year and with PITI the 388k mortgage would be about $2,200/mo.

Finding folks in that income bracket is not easy cause they usually have a couple of car payments, CC debt, student loan debt, etc.

Sounds like real estate agent hooey to me
