I am a socialist in the sense that I believe that the people, rather than wealthy individuals or corporations should control the production and distribution of goods. The result of corporate control has arrived in the USA and it has become totalitarian and fascist. I admit government control has the tendency to become totalitarian and fascist too if moral judgement is not exercised wisely.
To be honest, I have wavered between capitalism and socialism in my life and it all depends on how power is exercised. I agree what took place in the Soviet Union was a disaster. But that was because government became a right wing corporation. It all depends on who is in power and how that power is exercised.
