Yo_Jan...........................Good evening! I have not posted to you in a while on this thread, but I see "the hard-headed Dutchman"(your own words) is still hanging tough! I wanted to see if you knew that Intels' purchase of CHIPS went through today and if so have you contemplated the possible effects that this may have on S3s' future? I don't know for sure but "RUMOR" has it that S3 was one of two graphics companys that filed formal complants with the FTC against the Intel/Chips deal when it was first announced last june.

I was at COMDEX two years ago (I attend every year for business purposes) and was fortunate enough to stumble accidently into a private presentation of the Lockheed-Martin demo of their 3d chip. Jan, I cannot describe to you the unbelievable imagery the two engineers from L-M were able to generate on what I would call a "pretty standard desktop computer and a run of the mill 15 in. monitor". I was completely BLOWN AWAY by what I saw. I ask WHEN, WHERE, and HOW could I become a part of this 3D technology and was told that "EXCLUSIVE" license of their technology was with CHIPS. That was Nov. of 1996. When I got back home from COMDEX I called Chips and verified what I had been told was true, and then I purchased a SUBSTANCIAL position in Chips. I also held (BEFORE CHIPS) a substancial position in S3 (Which I sold at 10.25 last mo.). I sincerly hope that S3 does well in the future for all who are "Hard-Headed" and still long, but I couldn't help but wonder if the FTC didn't sign S3s' death warrant today?

Salude Amigo-Norman!
