Hi Duke,

<Obviously I've done my checks or else I wouldn't feel confident doing that. Does ANYONE have any chatter that can really make a difference!!>

Yep, do your own research.

For starters you might want to take a look at the last 2 years worth of 10Qs and 10Ks. Pay special attention to information on product mix and increase/decrease in sales on those products from quarter to quarter. It might also be prudent to ask yourself if a rebound in sales after a channel clearing quarter should be treated as a sign of a turn around. The information in the SEC filings is a lot easier to find than the information in the last 10,000 posts. Although a lot of those posts have some good insights as well as entertainment value. For example, following the exchange between Paul and Serendipity last weekend caused me an overwhelming attack of mirth (Note to P&S: Please forgive my saying so. My sense of humor should be treated with pity rather than ire.).

Another resource to check would be insider trading activities. Are the financial officers and VPs buying or selling? Do the folks that run the company and keep the books think Novell is going to rock the world with record profits?

Do you think that the folks at Merril and UBS have never heard of Novell? You can check Zacks or First Call to see how the ANALysists rate NOVL.

I don't currently hold a position on Novell. I got out of my long position a few months ago when the ship date for NDS for NT slipped and insiders continued to dump shares. I might go long or short if the price moves big in either direction. 7 1/2 isn't a bad price if a person just wants to hold some stock for awhile, while waiting to break even someday. Or to pick up a lucky eighth on a day trade. My guess is it will break support if it touches 7 again. On the other hand, it just formed a double bottom, so it might get a good bounce. Too early to call it either way IMO (in my opinion).

Regards,

Don
