I can think of one: one may be so heavily invested in a stock, that to admit to oneself that the company/stock is failing and is most likely to be worth nothing within a year, would be to admit they made a poor investment decision. To carry on as if everything is honky dory and to proclaim this continually to anyone within earshot is just not being honest.
