A significant pressure increase behind the lava fountaining at all the active fissures in the East rift zone is quite evident.

Pressure increase at other fissures documented here:

That increase works in both directions within the "plumbing"....the main conduit channels from the shared Kilauea/Mauna Loa magma chamber. A probable result of this being increased explosive activity at Halema'uma'u Crater (Kilauea) and a step up in Mauna Loa seismicity associated with its summit magma reservoir.

Will the Southwest rift zone start fissuring? As pressure builds, symptoms will spread. The increase can now be viewed as a persistent trend. Another step up will get the HOV geologists' and geophysicists' undivided attention.
