I didn't get the impression that they are completely done
with dram. Looks like they will still produce future
generation dram at 2 million units/month. But -- it is
good news anyway.

Looks like our old friend Kurlack is getting bashed over
on the Intel thread. Guess it's time for Kurlack
to upgrade Intel.

I think some of TI's upturn lately is due to the fact that
the analysts are beginning to figure out that the problems
in Asia can be both good and bad for TI and dram. The
Koreans can't buy capital equipment with today's won, but
on the other hand their production costs (55%-won based) go
down so they can sell more over cost without being accused
over dumping (selling under cost). In my view the long
run is more important than the short run. But, then there's
Taiwan wanting to step in. So far I haven't heard any
announcements.
