Churches were never an effective social net, or for a moral political system. Just look at history.

Modern social science and democracy have given the world the best life styles people have ever had and the most moral social systems.

How effective were the churches for either moral, happy and healthy social systems, or democracy, the previous 1900 years?

What a coincidence; democracy caused it when we elected Hoover, or somebody B4 him. Churches didn't fail to address the problem; they were just overwhelmed. So was Al Capone, because democracy failed to address the problem for 3 years.
