Given that Trump's policies seem to be focused on limiting Chinese investments in critical tech and real-estate as a punishment, it's unlikely we'll see an equity investment in AMSC by China as "compensation"..

And I think McGahn is looking to see if there is interest from Congress and the administration to use tariff revenue as a means of paying damages to affected companies like AMSC (which has the criminal conviction to back up it's claims).

Happened to catch an interview with Peter Navarro, and questions can up about ZTE.. His response was interesting, or more his lack of response, citing that he couldn't discuss it because of the on-going investigation..

Which means this is the same thing with AMSC.. They can't discuss the case publicly because we're still awaiting the sentencing of Sinovel..

But afterwards?? Then there is nothing to prevent the sentence being discussed..

And it COULD generate sufficient interest within Congress to move towards the legislation that McGahn hinted at in his recent USTR testimony. IOW, one way, or another, China will pay the damages they caused..

The Sinovel case, being the first time a criminal conviction has occurred against a Chinese company for IP Theft, SHOULD serve as a worthwhile case to highlight.
