over 10 grand here in NY is not affluent...
You really are a special kind of stupid, aren't you?

If you pay more than $10,000 in NY state income taxes, that means your annual income is well above $180K/year.

The median income in NY state is $63K. Making more than $180K/year puts you in approximately the top 9% of all New Yorkers.

I figured all of this out using Google and a little math.
