It seems the approval of NXP is tied directly to Trump commuting ZTE's death sentence (7 yr ban).

The latest wrinkle is Congress could legislate a bipartisan veto proof bill that takes the commutation authority out of Trump's hand. If the Chinese were to see that Congressional plan fail, or not even get on the docket, then we would be back to deal on.

I hope it becomes apparent sooner vs. later because the July deal hard deadline is approaching.
