Re <<Trump's new tariffs of 25% on steel and 10% on aluminum illustrates how Trump’s interventionist impulses are creating a cumbersome, bureaucratic Washington DC process.>>

Maybe the entire initiative has everything to do w/ issues peripheral to trade but much more important to deep-state. Perhaps ‘they’ are trying to (one-off) figure out and come to grips with America’s supply-chain vulnerabilities.

The pentagon already did its exercise and apparently the conclusion was quite alarming, necessitating programs to be tee-ed up to stockpile certain inputs and watch / brief on other developments.

Or maybe deep-state wishes to destabilise/ regime-change in alliance territories, w/ side benefit of boosting dollar so as to enable another iteration of saving J6P by way of QE or in extreme circumstance, jubilee. Remember that trump, if any expert, is a debt negotiation expert.

Outrageous suggestion but hey, let’s watch for developments and see.

Trump can be accused of many things, but stupid he is not. Else how did he get himself elected?
