Following the end of trade negotiations in China over the weekend, I believe that China will do nothing in regard to the AMSC issue until some overall trade agreement with the U.S. is adopted. The EU, meanwhile, has strongly criticized China for not respecting intellectual property rights, and China has, through a recent article published in the South China Post, fallen all over itself to claim that it really does respect those rights.

Well, the AMSC case is such a blatant example of action, rather than mere words, that China might really agree to fix this matter, but unfortunately not until other trade issues with the U.S. are settled.
