You should be safe buying any SSD out there as SATA III was already an established standard by the time your computer was made. Should have asked this two days ago as Newegg had a sale on a 2TB Micron SSD for $285. Even at full price of $315 is probably the best deal $/GB. Other than that, the better deals are on 512GB drives which are routinely available for under $100 on sale.

I don't know if I'd buy a Dogfish or Team Group branded product though... Mushkin is reputable. Crucial, SanDisk, Samsung more so...
