I bought because of the short squeeze. If it turns out to be mere hype, I will be upset, but I won't blame anyone: I should know better. As I said before, I kept my investment small because of my skepticism. If it turns out to be something more insidious than hype, then I and many others will be upset, and rightly so.
As far as long term potential for this stock, in reviewing the financials I really don't see any. The clothing side of the business seems to be in disarray (the factory in Nicaragua was sold and RMIL didn't even know about it?) The water side has potential, but it is a very competitive business, and most of the competitors are better-financed and organized. I've seen small water bottlers grow into fairly large companies, but they got in at the beginning of the growth cycle for the bottled-water business. Out West, at least, the market appears to be saturated, with not much room for new competitors. Just my opinion, however, based on casual observation of sales and shelf space. I haven't done any market research.
As far as my trying to "tank" the stock, I thought one of the purposes of SI was to promote an open and honest discussion of the upsides and downsides of investments. I don't think that raising questions and seeking the truth is equivalent to slamming a stock. I an simply seeking information so that I can make informed decisions.
I am amazed that in just a few posts, I seem to have been labeld as a nay, and even as Mike Kugler reincarnated. I would suggest that the preponderance of "nays" on this thread is in large part a creation of the yeas. A person arrives, asks a question or two, is quickly attacked, becomes defensive, and soon goes on the attack simply as a means of protection. Recognizing the syndrome, I will try to avoid it. Please don't make it any harder than necessary. |
