PPACA was years in the making and people had been working up ideas for it for years before that. I know that you were around for the sausage making part of in. Surely you haven't forgotten how long that took.

I understand that Trump can and often does throw out half-assed ideas in a matter of minutes in an early morning tweet but that's not the same thing as designing a system for a country's medical care. In 30-60 days he couldn't even line up a team tasked with coming up with a framework. If that were possible, the R's would have advanced a replacement back when they were talking repeal and replace. But they had nothing then and I see no reason to think that they could come up with something going forward.

The only replacement system that is well enough formulated to be written up as legislation right away is single payer. There is nothing else that already has even a design concept.
