There is, I think, a strong element of proof in the very idea that he ran for the office. For him to believe he actually had the requisite experience and knowledge, given his lack of any history of accomplishment, was to me suggestive of some kind of inflated self inventory.

He did this on the strength of a single speech written by a 24 year old kid. That the American people were such idiots as to fall for it was astounding.
