When you are self-employed and run a good popular service, you play G-d with your fees, like I did. Now I soaked the super rich and came down considerably, about 60% to 2/3 for ordinary people. I did it because I am a radical liberal with socialist leanings and I identify with poor to middle income people, not rich pigs. Now the big question, of course, is who is to decide who should earn what. Should Government or a select group of people decide? I think not. I believe in socialized medicine so I guess I just contradicted myself here. If a market is truly free - which the USA is not - then I can support a free market. But to much regulation can get oppressive too. Certain industries need to be socialized, like healthcare and energy or they become financially oppressive for most of the population.
