I trust my judgement more than some executive who may not have an in depth understanding of the technical trade offs.

Believe me, my sources are not bean counters and have decades of deep technical knowledge.. No offense, but II know these people well over a decades long career, and trust their judgment about what will succeed in the enterprise. They will not be customers of QLC..

You should trust your judgement, if you don't trust someone else's. Those with the best judgment will have the best success.

Samsung, Toshiba/WDC have all announced QLC and we don't have enough information about which one is the best. So far I haven't been able to find any detail on what you are talking about. I am skeptical that IP for planar NAND is directly applicable to 3d, as they are very different.

Whether planar or 3D, the individual cells are similar, the main difference being that in 3D, cell size can be relaxed for better performance.. WDC (formerly SanDiak/M-Systems) do not have QLC, they have X4. X4 = X3 + secret saurce (which involves geographic placement of individual bits within a cell). X4 is clearly superior to QLC, which has less endurance than MLC. X4 endurance is identical to MLC. X4 has quietly been in production since 2009, in the majority of MLC products.
