But a battery potential energy needs no additional energy to go to cascade failure with a slight even micro mechanical failure of impedance. A gas tank mechanical failure with no spark causes no explosion of fire. Just stink. I have personal experience with battery out of the blue cascade failure. And I have experience at age ten when my first attempt at installing 110v switch was not quite right. And as a young engineer i personally analyzed the Beckman 6401 counter timer power switch evaporation failures were due to a reverse wiring or the neutral and hot 110 volt leads.

The US Navy and Beckman are lucky that no Navy Sailor or civilian died because of that gross design defect.
