China doesn't "already own the seas". The US has far more naval power than they do. But it will take intelligence and a concerted group effort to place limits on them. Something that can't be done if Trump continues to act unilaterally. He has to act with other countries and of course he is the last person in the world who would be able to do that.

I think Japan has moved a little beyond the stage of catching babies on bayonets, too.

What do you think has changed in less than a hundred years? Humans are perverse. Anything is possible. Not just for Japan. For any country. Any people. Anywhere.
