OT: IMO you cannot separate what Drumpf says from what he has done, but I will try.
Agreed, fortunately he has been hampered in his plans by the US political system.
Very bad things Drumpf has done
- Just when it seemed the level of political discourse in the US couldn't get any worse, he found a way to drop down to the seventh subbasement, normalizing racism, sexism, and out and out lying
- He has put into jeopardy alliances that have taken decades and centuries to build
- His disastrous trade policies, which are nothing more than a repackaging of the failed import substitution model a number of Marxist and Communist influenced governments tried back in the sixties and seventies with disastrous results, will have very negative effects of the American and thus the Canadian economy.
- His bizarre hatred of Obama, fueled by the racism he learned at his father's knee plus the way Obama made fun of him at a White House correspondent's dinner, has led him to throw the baby with the bathwater; everything Obama did has to go whether it was a good idea or not.
I could go on and on, but that will do for a start.
I will give credit to Canada here. We ave confined our version of Drumpf, Don Cherry, to intermissions of hockey broadcasts were he can be easily avoided but more important, cannot do any harm.
