Jack, in answere to your question about the earrings James was right.
What a persons wears or how they fix their hair or what color pants or dress they put on, is meaningless to our Father. It is what is in their hearts that count.
A person's outward appearance is judged by man.....Not by God! that is why many people do not even bother to give our Father the right time of the day.......Because many preachers are telling them that they must dress or look a certain way.......Bunk.!
A person male/female can wear anything including earrings and still love the LORD!
Here is documentation on who also wore earrings!
Exod 32:1-2
1 When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, "Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him."
2 Aaron answered them, "Take off the gold earrings that your wives,your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me."
These were Israelites!
The Ishmaelites aslo wore earrings
Judg 8:24
24 And he said, "I do have one request, that each of you give me an earring from your share of the plunder." (It was the custom of the Ishmaelites to wear gold earrings.)

Ezek 16:11-12
11 I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck,
12 and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.
This was our Father God speaking....
