Ciprico 7000 Series Fibre Channel Disk Array Achieves Microsoft
Compatibility Certification

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Ciprico Inc. (Nasdaq: CPCI - news) today announced that Microsoft Corporation
(Nasdaq: MSFT - news) has certified the 7000 Series Fibre Channel RAID disk array product family as compatible with Windows
NT version 4.0. The 7000 Series met vigorous and stringent testing standards performed at Microsoft's own Windows Hardware
Quality Labs (HQL) in Redmond, Wash. -- the lab responsible for supporting the Windows Logo program.

The official Windows NT Hardware Compatibility List is designed to provide NT users and Microsoft's own technical support staff
with a high level of comfort that certified products will work consistently in conjunction with the NT operating system. This list is
available worldwide through the Internet via microsoft.com . Ciprico's product listing can be found included in the
''Storage/RAID'' category.

This certification announcement for Ciprico's Fibre Channel product line is the first of many planned for 1998 and signifies Ciprico's
official launch into the Windows NT high-end visualization and graphics intensive computing applications.

''Ciprico's disk arrays have been successfully providing performance, reliability and data redundancy for the NT environment for
years,'' said Robert Kill, Ciprico President and CEO. ''Our goal for the future is to be the market leader with a more closely tested
and integrated package solution for new emerging applications relying on the performance enhancements under Windows NT 4.0 and
beyond.''
