Trumpers at one another's throats on Fox News:

Geraldo Rivera and Hannity Erupt Over Border Policy: ‘When Did We Become the Party of Child Abuse?!’

by Aidan McLaughlin | 11:07 pm, June 19th, 2018

Sparks flew on the set of Hannity Tuesday night as the Fox News host sparred with Geraldo Rivera over the separation of migrant families at the southern border.

Sean Hannity first said Democrats were “playing politics” by not taking an immigration deal from President Donald Trump, telling both sides of the aisle to “fix the law and do your jobs.”

“Politics aside,” Rivera replied, “This is cruelty as policy. This is an obscenity. This is the government of the United States and the president that we both love, advocating a system by which young children are torn from their mothers.”

“Geraldo,” Hannity tried to interject.

“History will judge us, Sean,” Rivera continued. “We must take a stand on something. Here is where we draw the line.”

Hannity replied that he doesn’t want any family separation, and maintained that if Congress works with the president “it can be fixed tomorrow.”

“2,300 children have been torn from their parents forcibly!” Rivera cried. “These are little babies, 18 months old. These are 10-year-olds with disabilities! Taken from their parents. This is impossible. We can’t condone this. The Republicans are the party of faith and family.

“When did we become the party of child abuse!?” Rivera said. He then pointed out that Trump implemented the “zero tolerance” policy that is responsible for charging border crossers and thereby sending their children to detention centers.

Chris Farrell of Judicial Watch spoke next, and after dismissing those getting “hysterical” about family separations, Rivera blew up.

“This is not hysterical!” Rivera shot back. “This is child abuse! How dare you! How dare you!”

Hannity jumped in to ask Rivera if he supported an emergency session of Congress to hammer out a deal on immigration that addressed funding for a border wall, a fix for DACA and an end to family separations. Rivera replied that Trump should end the policy tonight.

At the end of the segment, Rivera unleashed a final time on Farrell: “You know just because you don’t have sincere emotions, don’t say I don’t!”
