Highly unlikely that you will capture pros on surveillance video. You may catch kids but even if you do, what good does it do?

Your stuff is still gone and you have the “pleasure” of arguing with your insurance company.

One thing I have heard seems to work reasonably well: Set up motion detectors outside around the perimeter of the house and connect them to the loudest siren you can find.

Downside... Animals can set them off and your neighbours will eventually chase you out of town.
