I don't usually get bug or ant bites, but some small unseen bug or ant bit me on the foot today while we were spending time out in the wild...

Why spend even those few bucks on those store bought remedies when they have only a minimal amount of any active ingredients???

If you notice on all of those store bought remedies, the active ingredient is ammonia...

So, why not take a cotton ball and wet it with some common household ammonia from your pantry and dab it onto the bite... the itch or sting disappears immediately... and it only costs you a few cents, if that...
