If you go with the security camera route like Vendit or myself, you can store the photos on their cloud. It's not always ridiculously expensive and should help with insurance claims. I went with Kuna for my back door/patio windows and with Ring (now Amazon) for the front door. Arlo has also just come out with new outdoor cameras. Simplisafe has a reasonable indoor camera.
