Abuelita, I made a tongue in cheek comment which didn't fly. It was a response to a particular phrase in a statement by Wharf. Rather than go back and untangle what I said, I'll just go on the record again: I don't agree with Trump when made the original statements and when he now keeps making the issue of immigration one of crime. IMO, it's an economic issue. The crime elements to it are real but don't seem to me, as far as I have discovered, to be substantial enough to gin up fear in the public and tarnish all Latinos with.

So let me apologize for the statement and make my actual position clearer. As Bentway said, countries don't send people, and the vast majority of those who come, do it on their own and do so for economic reasons.
