BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 1998--

Convergent customer care and billing system will enable diAx to bring
range of telecom services to market

As one of the first competitors to Switzerland's monopoly
telecommunications carrier, diAx today announced it will use Saville's
(NASDAQ:SAVLY) Convergent Billing Platform (CBP)(tm) to provide
customers with discounted packages of telecom products and services.
Saville CBP's flexible pricing and fast implementation will enable
diAx to quickly bring new telecom products and services to market,
helping it compete with incumbent telecom provider, Swisscom.
diAx, which was formed by Swiss Re, SBC Communications and diAx
holding, a consortium of Switzerland's utilities, will provide telecom
services to residential customers, small and medium sized businesses.
Switzerland generates three billion international calling minutes
annually, the seventh largest volume in the world.
To help it provide convergent - multiple services on one invoice
- telecom services, diAx needs a system that provides flexible pricing
capabilities. "We selected Saville CBP because it provides us with the
functionality to offer attractive, market-led products and services
quickly," said Stefan Vogt, marketing director at diAx. "Saville CBP's
convergent architecture, for example, allows us to offer packages of
services with advanced pricing and discounting capabilities."
In addition to pricing options, diAx needs a billing partner that
can help it get the system operational in a very short time and grow
with its future needs. "Saville has an impressive track record of
quickly implementing systems. The direction of Saville CBP will also
allow diAx to run all services on one convergent billing and customer
care solution," said David Hamrick, information technology manager at
diAx.
diAx will enter the fixed line market and will compete for a new
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) license when it is made
available early this year. diAx is completing a 1,800 km advanced
digital fiber optic network linking all major Swiss cities, and
providing rapid, high-quality transmissions nationwide.
"The diAx contract is testimony that Saville is fast becoming a
major force in the European telecom billing and customer care systems
market. We are pleased to welcome diAx to our rapidly growing base of
customers in Europe," said Tony Bethell, Saville's European vice
president of sales and marketing.
