Lumentum up, Infinera down as Goldman analyst covers opticals
Jun. 21, 2018 9:26 AM ET|By: Jason Aycock, SA News Editor

Lumentum (NASDAQ: LITE) is up 3.7% premarket as the beneficiary of Goldman analyst Rod Hall's initiation of coverage on optical systems and components.

Lumentum's raised to Buy as Hall notes its rivals continue to struggle with Chinese growth not likely to spike in the short term. Chinese demand should be stable, while growth outside of China should probably continue driven by metro rollouts, he says. (h/t Bloomberg)

He also maintains a Buy rating on Ciena (NASDAQ: CIEN), but Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN) is down 3.4% as Hall downgrades to Neutral. He's also Neutral on Acacia Communications ( ACIA, up 2.9% premarket) and Adtran (NASDAQ: ADTN), and upgraded Corning (NYSE: GLW) to Neutral.

Arris (NASDAQ: ARRS) is down 2.4% premarket on Goldman's downgrade to Sell. Hall also has a Sell rating on Finisar (NASDAQ: FNSR), down 0.8%premarket.
