I think the solution to immigration is for our foreign policy to concentrate on our own land neighbors much more, and distant places much less. We don't get a lot of illegal immigration from overseas. They come by land, through or from Mexico.

Mexican immigration is way down, because, thanks to NAFTA, there's no reason for most Mexicans to come here for a job. Central America is a total mess, in no small part because of our screwing them for our international fruit corporations. We need to help them get their own acts together.

Climate change is likely to make this much worse.
