Winston, I'm quite familiar with scientific research and publications (although not in the biotech field). More often than not, scientists tend to stretch the potential applications from some very fundamental research which always sound good on paper. If for no other reasons, our "stretch of imagination" derives from the need to explore all potential possibities. We leave no stones unturned when it comes to making implications of our findings. The vast majority of these so-called potential applications remain undeveloped for various reasons, including technicality, practicality, and economics. I suspect the results from Geron falls into this category as well.
