To All

Spoke with DML yesterday and can pass along the folowing:

1. At some point about the third week of January +/-, expect to see the 1997 Program Review or Summary as supplied by Teck to DML and JV partners. It will document what was drilled, where, and what was found.

2. At some point about one to three weeks +/- before the PDC in Toronto in early March, expect to see Teck/DML's anticipated 1998 Exploration Plans indicating focus of the program, exploration to be undertaken, number of holes anticipated, intent of program, etc.

3. No massive sulfide assays are outstanding at this time or remain to be announced.

4. It is anticipated that a great deal of the 1998 program will focus on the northern gabro area with a great deal of attention devoted to the NAI JV. This will include further geophysical surveying and drilling with the intent of attempting to identify thicker massive sulfide intersections and tonage in and nearby holes 96 and 75 in addition to exploration of other prospective drill targets on these claims.

5. It is anticipated that alote of the 1998 program will also focus on the southern gabro area with a great deal of attention devoted to the CYP JV. This will include further geophysical surveying and deep drilling with the intent of attempting to identify massive sulfide intersections and tonage below previously shalowly terminated holes in addition to exploration of other prospective drill targets on these claims.

6. Weather permitting, current thinking is that all things being equal, Teck will return to active drilling sooner rather than later.

7. There has been a great deal of investor interest both from outside of Canada and from funds and apparently there has been some significant and ongoing accumulation in this regard. This is anticipated to continue.

8. All JV partners have now agreed to the 1998 exploration program.

9. Company sentiments are extremely high and optimistic for very exciting 1998 exploration results.

The party providing this information has never mislead me or been proven wrong in the past.

Regards

Hope this was of help and good luck in 1998.

Regards
