Smart Republicans left the Republican party -- like me, after 46 years registered Republican. Mind you, I'm not a Democrat either. I currently have no political affiliation.

as to:
"How can anyone support someone they know lies all the time?"
yeah, that's a good question. I don't recall any politician in my lifetime who lies as much as Trump.

and this:

They're intellectually and morally corrupt and are easily misled.
This is exactly what I believe to be the problem with Trumptards... and believe me I know a LOT of them. MANY of my friends and some of my family. They're a gullible bunch who sway with every breeze that blows on them.
Now here's a good question:
Where's the health care plan Obama said he had? He said it'd insure everyone and cost less.
First of all lets get something straight: -you are in your eighties and have been enjoying THE BEST DAMN INSURANCE ON THE PLANET: MEDICARE .

Those on Medicare are totally out of touch with the rest of population. I know because I just went onto Medicare last year. Prior to that was paying HUGE premiums as a self-employed person and I don't think you have a clue what it cost a working man with 6 kids to provide decent health insurance for his family.

Before the ACA the premium for just my wife and I to have catastrophic coverage was around ~ $1000 per month. After the ACA came into effect our premium was lowered to $237.00 per month for the same plan.

While the ACA has its drawbacks it also has MANY positive aspects to it which is why so many people dont want it to go away. Personally, I would like to see something like Medicare for all.

I will be FOREVER grateful that I was able to get Proton Beam Therapy for prostate cancer earlier this year. The bill summaries are still pouring in and my guess looking at the numbers is that the retail cost of the treatment is somewhere around $200k. With Medicare an AARP supplement F I have not paid A SINGLE DIME.
