I started smoking at 15. My HS actually had a smoking section in a courtyard outside for students. One science teacher came up with a breathing test and I beat everyone in the class, because I played trumpet in the band. Once I held my breath for 2 minutes, but there's zero chance of ever being able to do that again.

My step-dad quit smoking after a heart attack and got a second chance, but everyone isn't so lucky. That was over a decade ago.
