In the past I would not have disagreed with you about this.

But at the end of the day, is Trump not going to negotiate for zero tariffs on both sides (all sides)? And won’t that bring us to an entirely free market condition?

I don’t see any reason for us to be paying tariffs and not fighting back. Trump isn’t, so far as I can see, trying to turn a profit in these tariffs, but only to have other countries agree that what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
