***OT*** Cameron's lucky day
Cameron,
Oh, tomorrow is your anniversary? Well, well, that's a horse of a different color. Are you in luck or what? Here's a little digest of some happenings on 15 January:
1777 Vermont declares itself independent 1870 Thomas Nast publishes his first cartoon using the donkey as the symbol of the Democratic Party 1909 Gene Krupa, drummer, is born in Chicago 1926 Chuck Berry is born in St. Louis ("Roll Over, Beethoven!") 1929 Martin Luther King, Jr., is born in Atlanta 1936 The Ford Foundation is incorporated 1943 The Pentagon is completed 1967 The first Super Bowl game is played (Los Angeles Coliseum, Green Bay beating Kansas City 35-10) 1973 President Nixon orders a halt to military actions against North Vietnam
Much better than Benedict Arnold's birthday, don't you think? So, have yourself a grand fifteenth anniversary! (Note that the presence of an exclamation mark at the end of that sentence indicates that it is a command.)
Cheers, Tom (long IOM)
